Description
Job Summary: The Personal Care Administrative Supervisor will be designated by the provider ownership or administrative management to oversee the day-to-day delivery of direct personal care services. This position of responsibility may be assigned in conjunction with other duties within the provider organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of personal care services.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to deliver high-quality care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for personal care services.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of personal care staff.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to personal care services.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Monitor the provision of personal care services and authorized nurse visits to ensure services are delivered in accordance with the personal care plan.
- Conduct monthly reviews and comparisons of aides’ records with the personal care plan.
- Ensure monitoring reports are available for review by DSS and DHSS upon request.
- Document reasons for any authorized services and units not delivered.
- Make annual on-site visits to evaluate each personal care aide’s performance and the adequacy of the plan of care.
- Approve all changes to the plan of care based on supervisory visits, information from personal care aides, or RN observations.
- Make recommendations to DHSS or its designee regarding changes in service delivery.
- Assist in orientation and training for personal care aides.
- Designate trainers for on-the-job training sessions required for personal care aides.
- Communicate with DHSS or its designee regarding changes in participants’ conditions and recommended changes in service delivery.
- Be available for regular case conferences with DHSS or its designee.
- Perform weekly nurse visits to assess participants’ health and the suitability of the service plan.
- Teach CPR to personal care aides and other relevant staff.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- RN (Registered Nurse) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) certification.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare or personal care setting.
- Experience working with Medicaid and VA clients in personal care.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in personal care services.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to teach CPR and conduct health assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in healthcare management or administration.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
